Circularity of the Belgian plastics industry - Progress report

Belgium is not only a major polymer production hub but also has a strong plastics converting industry and plays a pioneering role in plastic waste sorting and recycling. This progress report is the result of a collaboration between three national associations: Agoria, Denuo and essenscia, which represent different parts of the plastics value chain and share a strong commitment to value chain collaboration. It is largely based on the Belgian data collected by Plastics Europe in the ‘Circularity for plastics report 2026’ and complemented with additional own data.
