Accelerating Innovation into Business in Chemistry and Plastics.
At Catalisti, the innovation cluster for the chemical and plastics industries, we mean business for companies. Our team creates successful synergies between companies of all sizes, universities and research institutes to accelerate the transition to sustainable chemistry and plastics.

We are on a mission:
From innovation to new business
Our mission is to actively contribute to sustainable and competitive chemical & plastics industries by working on new value chains, improved innovation power, clustering knowledge, and a sustainable economy. Through open innovation projects with support from the Flemish government, we champion cooperation throughout the industrial value chain to facilitate industrial innovations. Our strength lies in combining expertise across sectors and disciplines, and making innovation concrete for your core business. We work with companies, knowledge institutes & universities, other innovation clusters and international peers.
We mean business.
Catalisti's Innovation Agenda

Biobased Value Chains
Using biobased resources as feedstock to develop and produce biobased chemical products, that’s the essence of the Biobased Value Chains (BVC) innovation program.

Process Intensification & Transformation
Innovation of chemical processes, both incremental and radical. That’s the focus of the Process Intensification and Transformation (PIT) innovation program.

Circularity & Resource Efficiency
Transforming linear chemical value chains into circular value chains is the core of the Circularity and Resource Efficiency (CRE) innovation program.

Advanced Sustainable Products
The goal of the Advanced Sustainable Products (ASP) innovation program is to develop new, innovative products that are advanced and sustainable.

FUNY
The ICON project FUNY investigates whether the existing process to add functionalities to powder coating particles can be made more sustainable. The project integrates two core technologies for the production of such particles: atmospheric plasma technology and coating reactor technology. This combined technology opens up opportunities for the functionalisation of powder coating particles in a wide variety of applications.
Enzymares
The intercluster project Enzymares, supported by Catalisti, Blauwe Cluster and Flanders’ FOOD, developed an enzyme prediction toolbox to speed up enzyme discovery and reduce the time-to-market for new enzymes. The innovative toolbox contributes to the success of enzymes as sustainable bio-catalysts and thus supports companies in making their processes and products more sustainable. Discover the project with this video.
BluePlasma
The BluePlasma project is focused on converting CO2 into CO, which can be used to produce value-added chemicals such as e-fuels and polymers. The project aims to achieve a circular and sustainable economy and reduce CO2 emissions.
