Prepare your start-up for growth with Schaalklaar 2027
Good news for ambitious start-ups: in 2027, VLAIO will once again launch its 'Schaalklaar' funding programme, supporting young, innovative companies with a scalable business model that are ready to take the next step towards becoming a scale-up. Moreover, the grant instrument will now become a permanent annual call.
Annual funding programme
Flanders Innovation & Entrepreneurship (VLAIO) has approved a new Schaalklaar call for 2027, backed by a budget of €5.25 million. In addition, the programme will become a permanent funding instrument with an annual call for proposals. In 2027, 15 promising start-ups will once again have the opportunity to realise their ambitious growth plans with support from VLAIO.
Who is it for?
Schaalklaar is aimed at start-ups with a scalable business model and clear growth ambitions. The subsidy supports strategic growth steps such as market expansion, team strengthening, digitisation and automation, internationalisation, and the optimisation of business processes. This gives companies the space to approach their growth in a sustainable and well-considered manner.
Timeline
The 2027 call will consist of the following phases:
- November 2026: publication of the call documents on the VLAIO website
- 15 January - 29 January 2027: pre-application phase (maximum of 100 pre-applications)
- 22 March - 23 April 2027: full application phase for selected companies
- May 2027: jury interviews
- July 2027: final funding decision
