The European Innovation Fund has launched its 2024 call for proposals, focusing on Net Zero Technologies (INNOVFUND-2024-NZT). This initiative, managed by the European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), aims to support and advance innovative low-carbon technologies and processes. With a substantial budget of €24 billion, the fund is one of the world's largest programs dedicated to the demonstration of innovative low-carbon technologies, aiming to bring industrial solutions to market that will decarbonize Europe and support its transition to climate neutrality.

The call is structured around several key topics, including general decarbonization projects of varying scales, clean-tech manufacturing, and pilot projects. Each topic addresses specific areas of innovation, from large-scale projects with capital expenditures exceeding €100 million to small-scale projects starting at €2.5 million. The fund is open to legal entities from any country, provided they are established in an eligible country and meet the financial and operational capacity requirements.
