Up to €250.000 for cross-border R&D: Crossroads Call 4 now open
The fourth project call of Interreg CrossRoads (France-Wallonie-Vlaanderen) is now open. SMEs from eligible regions in Flanders, Wallonia, and France can apply for cross-border innovation projects. Crossroads funds international R&D projects at TRL 5-8. Selected consortia can receive grants of up to €250.000, covering 50% of total project costs, to accelerate innovation and bring it to market faster. Innovation trajectories can run for a maximum of two years.
Who can apply?
The call is open to SMEs from the following regions:
- Flemish SMEs from West-Vlaanderen or Oost-Vlaanderen (districts of Ghent and Oudenaarde)
- Walloon SMEs from Hainaut, Namur, or Luxembourg
- French SMEs from Hauts-de-France or Grand Est (departments of Marne and Ardennes)
Eligibility criteria
- SMEs in financial difficulty are excluded from participating
- Each consortium must include at least one French SME and one Flemish or Walloon SME
- The project must focus on innovation within TRL 5–8 (activities at TRL 9 may be included, but cannot exceed 20% of the total project budget)
- The total project budget may not exceed €500.000, with a maximum grant of €250.000
Important dates and deadlines
The call is open from 12 February to 30 April 2026. Project evaluation and selection are planned for May to July 2026, with projects scheduled to start in September 2026.

Interested organisations are invited to attend VLAIO's online webinar on 18 March 2026 at 14:00. The online information session will provide a comprehensive overview of the application procedure, eligibility criteria, and project implementation.
