Select4Care closing event
Niel, Belgium
Join us for the closing event of Select4Care and be inspired by concrete insights, practical experiences, and innovative solutions that make the medical sector smarter, more sustainable, and more efficient.
The medical sector faces a major challenge: waste streams continue to grow, while reuse and recycling lag far behind. On average, a hospital bed produces 130 to 300 kilograms of waste annually, of which only 15 percent is recycled or reused. The reason? Many medical instruments and materials are designed for single use. Single-use products are still preferred, even though modern technologies and high-quality materials offer opportunities for a second life. That is why VIL and Denuo launched the Select4Care project. The project aims to break the current pattern by focusing on selective collection, sorting, dismantling, and high-quality recycling. Processes were investigated and manufacturers were involved to encourage ‘design for recycling’, so that products take a second life into account at the design stage. The results of this project will be presented during this closing event in LogiVille by various stakeholders and key players within the industry.
